Biography
Harper Shalloe is a PhD candidate in the Department of Modern Culture and Media. Their dissertation, "Sick, Sad World: Holism and Less-than-human Thought," queries the ascendency of ecology as an ethical, theoretical, and therapeutic paradigm. Their writing has appeared in Transgender Studies Quarterly and the anthology Refocus: The Films of Doris Wishman, and they have worked as an editorial assistant for Camera Obscura: Feminism, Culture, and Media Studies and differences: A Journal of Feminist Cultural Studies. Harper holds a BA in Cinema Studies from New York University, where they were an Undergraduate Fellow at the Center for the Humanities (2016).
